The cultural fest at the NCWEB center of SGGSC yet again stole the show

New Delhi. The NCWEB center of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce organized its annual cultural fest Srijan 2.0 on February 18, 2024. The theme of the event was Empowering Women and Empowering Communities. From decor to performances, from poetry recitation to different competitions, the students highlighted the importance of a woman as an entity and in a community as a whole. On this occasion, the chief guest of the program was the dignitary Proctor of Delhi University, Professor Rajni Abbi and special guest Professor Geeta Bhatt, Director of Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Institute (NCWEB). The program started by honoring the guests by giving them shawls, plants, insignia and gifts etc. Furthermore, Rangoli, Live Art, Hairstyle, Poster Making, Best Out of Waste, Millet Cooking and Mehndi competitions were organized in this program in which girl students participated. 
Navdeep Kaur, The Teacher In-Charge of the Centre, stressed that the main theme of the annual festival, ‘Women Empowerment’, is very important for the present society and also talked about connecting it with the dream of a developed India of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Director of Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Institute (NCWEB), Prof. Geeta Bhatt, while praising the continuous activism of the Centre, described the main theme of the festival as ‘Women Empowerment’ as very relevant and introduced the roles of women in our history to the girl students. She narrated many inspiring stories of female scholars or successful women around us. 
Chief guest Professor Rajni Abbi gave the message to the girl students to move forward by being self-reliant in the future through many interesting stories. Various multicolored cultural dances like Giddha, Nepali, Bihu, Lavani, Bengali, Garba, K Pop were organized in this annual festival. Along with this, a drama based on the life of Anandi Bai Joshi was presented.This play tried to showcase the hardships faced by Anandi and how she overcame them all on her road to education. 
The Centre’s art and culture organization ‘Nav Bahar’ played an important role in this event, whose coordinator is Alhuda, a faculty member of the Centre, and Parminder Kaur, a student of the Centre, is its president. The vote of thanks to the guests was given by the center’s co-convenor Neha Goyal and in the end the center’s in-charge Navdeep Kaur laid emphasis on the all-round development of the girl students and wished them all the best for moving ahead in life. 
The second part of the program focused on freshers whose theme was Retro Bollywood. Newly admitted girl students participated in this program and got the opportunity to hone their dance, music and singing talents.
